*Why the North West Must Stand Firm Behind Tinubu and Uba Sani in 2027

In the heart of Zaria on the 9th of June 2025, a powerful political moment unfolded. The Tinubu-Uba Leadership Network (TULN), a grassroots coalition committed to the continuity of progressive governance in Nigeria, paid a strategic solidarity visit to elder statesman and political heavyweight, Hon. Sani Mohammad Sha’aban, at his residence in Zaria.
Our mission was clear: to forge stronger alliances ahead of the 2027 re-election campaigns of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. But beyond the symbolic warmth of the visit, what played out was a testament to a deeper political realignment across the North West—a reaffirmation of the region’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Uba Sani: The Vanguard of Northern Alignment
Much has been said about President Tinubu’s national leadership, but few have sufficiently acknowledged the crucial role of Governor Uba Sani as the coordinating political anchor of the APC in the North West. In a region known for its decisive electoral strength, Uba Sani has emerged as the bridge between the presidency and the northern grassroots.
As the de facto rallying figure among APC governors in the zone, Governor Sani has demonstrated political maturity, coalition-building finesse, and ideological loyalty to the Tinubu administration. His efforts to harmonize Northern voices behind the president are not only strategic—they are essential.
It is no coincidence that since Governor Sani assumed office, Kaduna has remained a political laboratory of national unity. Through policies of inclusion, infrastructure development, and economic support for the poor, he has steadily repositioned the state as a model of post-2023 progressive governance.
His credibility among traditional rulers, youth leaders, and religious stakeholders across the North West has made him the natural mobilizer-in-chief for President Tinubu’s second-term bid. And make no mistake—the stakes are high. As opposition elements organize regionally, it will take the political intelligence of leaders like Uba Sani to preserve and expand the mandate of the Renewed Hope government.
Why 2027 Must Not Be Left to Chance
During our deliberation with Hon. Sha’aban in Zaria, TULN Coordinator Hon. (Dr.) Victor Mathew Bobai made a compelling point: “Continuity is not a slogan—it is a national necessity.”
President Tinubu’s achievements, particularly in the North, are not abstract. They include tangible federal investments such as:
The establishment of the Federal University of Education and Federal School of Nursing in Zaria.
The proposed Federal College of Agriculture, Federal Veterinary Institute, and Technical College, boosting agro-industrial capacity.
The creation of critical federal institutions in Southern Kaduna, including the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia and Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan.
The landmark appointment of General Christopher Musa Gwabin as Chief of Defence Staff, whose leadership has restored stability across the Sahel and border regions.
These are not random achievements—they reflect the president’s strategic partnership with Governor Uba Sani, who continues to serve as a loyal executor and regional envoy of these policies.
If we abandon continuity, we abandon momentum. We risk handing power back to forces who view politics not as service but as entitlement. The coalition of opposition voices, increasingly vocal but lacking in clear developmental vision, are united by one thing only—desperation for control. Nigeria cannot afford that regression.
Sha’aban’s Endorsement: “Follow Who Know Road”
In receiving the TULN team, Hon. Sani Mohammad Sha’aban offered not just hospitality but moral clarity and a firm endorsement of TULN’s leadership. He praised the visible, grassroots-oriented efforts of the forum and urged its expansion across all 23 LGAs of Kaduna State.
Significantly, he confirmed that TULN has every reason to rally behind Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai as its national coordinator. In a moment that blended humor with insight, the elder statesman declared:
“You have every reason to believe in the tutelage and leadership of Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai. In this journey, follow who know road.” 😂
The room erupted in laughter—but the message was loud and clear. Leadership in the trenches, coupled with vision and strategic direction, is what Nigeria needs today. And in the view of Hon. Sha’aban, Bobai embodies that perfectly.
He went further to affirm his moral and strategic support for TULN’s objectives and assured the team he would personally brief both President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani on their activities and recommend TULN’s integration into the broader 2027 campaign structure.
Conclusion: The Road Ahead
TULN’s visit to Zaria was more than symbolic—it was strategic. We returned to Kaduna energized, our message clearer than ever: the future belongs to visionaries, not opportunists.
As we move toward 2027, every ward, every LGA, every emirate must be mobilized to secure a second term for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. And in doing so, we must continue to rally behind Uba Sani not just as a governor—but as the coordinating leader of the North West’s progressive future.
